Adult Weekend Skateaway
Our second annual retreat-style weekend skating getaway for adult skaters is back – mark your calendars for Friday, September 23 – Sunday, September 25 in Austin, TX.
Faculty includes Elin Schran, Danielle Endow, Joey Millet, Garrett Kling and Kate McSwain.
This weekend gives adult skaters the opportunity to connect, create and collaborate with each other, offering the space for skaters to view themselves as authentic and integral contributors to the artistic skating community. You can still register for a spot!
CORE CAMP 2022 Review

The 2022 CORE Camp — AIT’s summer artistic figure skating training camp helping skaters develop the “Mind-Body-Movement Connection” — took place at the RecPlex Ice Arena July 21-24.





Campers enjoyed three full days of classes in skating skills, choreography, improv, hip hop, yoga, ballet, modern dance, and mindfulness. All skaters participated in the CORE Camp Showcase the last day of camp. On Sunday, July 24 the “CORE CAMP Cool Down” was offered for those ages 13+ and Intermediate Moves+ as a a way to gather together and dig deeper into mindful and embodied movement.


ACSFest 2022





The sixth annual American Contemporary Skating Festival Showcase took place Thursday June 9 – Sunday, June 12 at the Warrior Ice Arena. The festival featured workshops from an International crew of figure skating choreographers and presenters.

The showcase featured AIT Boston and AIT NYC Professional Companies, the AIT Boston Junior Company, 2022 Young Artists Showcase Champion Cameron Claire, and international choreographers presenting workshop pieces put together over the course of the festival weekend.


Coaches & Adults Summer Series

AIT Satellite Updates
AIT CHICAGO
AIT Chicago held their Summer Seminar on August 7 at the the Willowbrook Ice Arena. It was led by AIT Chicago Member Kat Kirkpatrick and professional coach and choreographer Mary Beth Marley.
In attendance were AIT Chicago company member Catherine Reikowski and professional coach and choreographer Morgan Ratkovich.

AIT CLEVELAND
AIT Cleveland held their Spring Seminar June 18 at the Cleveland Skating Club featuring guest artist and coach Chip Rossbach. Chip is a World Professional Champion and was a principal skater with Ice Capes and Nutcracker On Ice.
Their Summer Seminar was held on August 12 and was called “Emotion in Motion” featuring AIT Cleveland Director Elizabeth Misson.

AIT BOSTON
AIT Boston held their summer seminar in Somerville on Saturday, August 13 with special guest artist and choreographer Brooke Frieling. Also leading was AIT Boston Director Kate McSwain.
AIT MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL
The AIT MSP Summer Seminar was held Saturday, August 27 at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. AIT MSP Assistant Director Joey Millet led Six Ways of the Spine, AIT Company Member Cameron Claire led participants through improv and AIT Company Member Elise Little taught a contemporary combo.


AIT NYC held their Summer Seminar in conjunction with Krigor Studio on Sunday, August 28 at the Montclair State Arena in New Jersey. Led by AIT NYC Director Jordan Bailey and AIT NYC Assistant Director Sarah Zanolli, skaters participated in both on and off ice contemporary movement exercises and combo.

AIT NEW HAMPSHIRE
AIT New Hampshire held their summer seminar on Saturday, July 9.
The AIT NH Junior Company performed at the 2022 American Contemporary Skating Festival Showcase on June 12 in Boston. Choreographed by AIT NH Director Gillian Robidas, the piece called “Lost Girls” was performed by Kyla Dolan, Taya Sergeeva, and Genevieve Gratton.

AIT PHOENIX
AIT Phoenix, led by director Jacqueline Benson, will hold their summer seminar on Saturday, September 17 at Oceanside Ice Arena in Tempe. This seminar is titled “I AM…” and will focus on the use of affirmations to channel vulnerability and authenticity into movement exploration. The first portion of the seminar will be off ice from 1:00pm – 1:40pm and the second portion of the seminar will be on ice from 1:50pm – 3:20pm.
