AIT SEMINAR CURRICULUM

We offer full-day / 6-hour seminars or half-day / 3-hour seminars, or short / 1.5-hour seminars (this short option is must include private lessons / choreography work) and our typical seminar curriculum includes:

  • contemporary/modern dance concepts

Seminar Tuition & Private Lessons

  • 1 Full-day Seminar with 2 faculty: $900
    • This option must include 2 faculty members;
    • 6 hours off- and on- during 1 day;
    • OR can be 3 hours off- and on- between 2 days (depending on ice availability);
    • covers 6 Ways of the Spine™, 2-3 performance & expression tools, some skating skills, and short choreography combo;
    • maximum number of participants: 55 (1 group only).
  • 2 Full-Days Seminar with 2 faculty: $1900
    • This option includes 2 faculty members;
    • 12 total hours of off- and on- over 2 days;
    • covers 6 Ways of the Spine™ and edge class, 4-5 performance & expression tools, skating skills, and longer choreography combo;
    • maximum number of participants: 56 (only 1 group per day).
  • 2 Full-Days Seminar with 3 faculty: $2250
    • This option includes 3 faculty members;
    • 12 hours of off- and on- over 2 days;
    • covers in-depth skating skills technique and class as well as 6 Ways of the Spine™, 4-5 performance & expression tools, and longer choreography combo;
    • maximum number of participants: 100 (2 groups).
  • Half-Day Seminar with 1 faculty (3 hours): $500
    • This option includes 1 faculty member;
    • 3 hours can be on-ice OR a mixture of on- and off- ice;
    • covers a brief overview of 6 Ways of the Spine™, 1-2 performance & expression tools, and short choreography combo;
    • maximum number of participants: 30 (1 group only).
  • Half-Day Seminar with 2 faculty (3 hours): $750
    • This option includes 2 faculty members;
    • 3 hours can be on-ice OR a mixture of on- and off- ice;
    • covers a brief overview of 6 Ways of the Spine™, 1-2 performance & expression tools, and short choreography combo;
    • maximum number of participants: 55 (1 group only).
  • Short Class / Short Seminar: $400
    • This options includes 1 faculty member ONLY (cannot add-on more faculty);
    • 1.5-2 hours maximum;
    • Must be alongside private lessons in the area / rink / club;
    • maximum number of participants: 30 (1 group only).

We also typically offer private lessons for $120/hour before and/or after the seminar to work with students on their own programs and skills, for the maximum artistic experience. The hourly rate is typically paid directly by skaters.

Travel & Accommodations

Travel and accommodations are additional. Where possible, we work with you to decrease these costs by identifying nearby faculty, adding onto existing travel plans, being open to staying with a host family, etc.

VIRTUAL SEMINAR OFFERINGS

Since 2020, AIT has built up a virtual seminar audience from clubs, rinks, coaches, and teams across the globe. We offer Virtual Seminars as ways to experience shorter sessions on artistic and contemporary skating concepts while keeping it affordable and accessible for more skaters. We use the Zoom platform for all of our virtual offerings, and we can record the seminars to send out to registered participants if they were not available to make the time.

We can offer virtual seminars on a variety of topics:

  • 6 Ways of the Spine
  • Improvisation tools
  • Choreographic techniques
  • Hip Hop dance styles
  • Contemporary / Modern dance
  • Ballet for Figure Skaters
  • Yoga / Mindfulness

The cost of our virtual seminars varies based on the length of the session (we do not recommend going longer than 2 hours):

  • 1.5-hour virtual seminar: $200
