MCT Graduates Spring 2022

Congratulations to our graduates of the Spring 2022 semester of Master Choreography Techniques (MCT)! They include:

Holly Frei, St. Paul, MN

Monica Jackson, Little Rock, AR

Molly Rendel, Corona, CA

Rachel Williamson, Greensboro, NC

Master Choreography Techniques (MCT) is an advanced online certification and training program for both seasoned skating coaches and those looking to specialize in a career as an ice choreographer. Created by AIT Founder Jodi Porter, the class is a mixture of choreographic creation, video lecture, reading and monthly discussion meetings. AIT Co-Executive Directors Garrett Kling & Kate McSwain lead the semester class.

At the end of the semester, each student creates a final capstone project incorporating the choreographic elements of time, space, energy and form.

Holly Frei

Holly is a Former Team USA skater, an Adult skater and synchro coach.

“MCT has taught me to trust the choreographic process rather than to be focused on a specific result.”

Monica Jackson

Monica is a four-time Gold Medalist, Master Teacher in “Ballet For Figure Skaters”, Competitor, Coach and Choreographer. She has worked in TV, Film and Photography. Serving three terms as VP on the club board, she is currently serving her third term on the Adult Skating Committee. She identifies as a Philanthropist, Animal and Social Activist.

“My greatest takeaway is to trust and allow myself to to be free because only when we are free with no inhibitions do we create the best art.”

Molly Rendel

Molly is a five-time US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, Free Skating, Dance, Solo Dance, and Solo Free Dance. After competing for over ten years, including the 2019 British Figure Skating Championships, she is very excited to be coaching figure skating and hockey at her home rink in California.

“MCT has taught me the importance in making intentional choreographic decisions, to be sure each movement will impact not only the skater’s performance, but also the audience’s perception of the piece. This certification is helping me create entertaining programs for my artistry in motion classes and my private students.”

Rachel Williamson

Rachel is a coach and choreographer currently living in Austin, TX. She has previously lived in Greensboro, NC and Madrid, Spain. Rachel is also a working musician.

“MCT taught me how to choreograph from a new perspective and I now have so many tools to play with to create something unique. Most importantly, by working alongside my classmates and instructors at MCT, I learned how to be Bold and Brave!”
