SPRING 2023 Virtual Deep Dive Series: “Improv to choreo tools”

Our 2023 Deep Dive Series will be an in-depth virtual choreography education program on tools when using improvisation to create and set choreography. Join us as we share tips and tricks to using improvisation to create interesting and creative choreography phrases, movements, and programs!

The 4 virtual sessions will run on Tuesdays from 8:30-10pm ET. The dates and themes of each class are:

March 14: Setting the Mood – Preparation for Improv
March 21: TIME & SPACE Exploration & Intention
April 4: ENERGY Exploration & Intention
April 18: FORM – How to Turn Improv into Set Choreo

You can choose to register for 1 class at $25/class or all 4 classes for $75 total. Registration is available on the form below for skaters and coaches ages 18+; walk-on registration will be available for the individual classes throughout the series, but the registration deadline with the discounted rate for all 4 classes will be Monday, March 13. All classes will be on the Zoom platform and will be recorded to view afterwards for those participants who register and pay ahead of time.

All 4 sessions will be led by AIT Co-Executive Directors, Kate McSwain and Garrett Kling. The Deep Dive Series is a more in-depth research style session that will give you the opportunity to experience hands-on exercises while also learning the basic tools and concepts in the development of IJS tools in singles skating.
